Drawer Making Workshop
Back to Workshops

This is one of our most advanced workshops.  It requires a combination of skill and speed to complete in the allotted time.  Each student will be provided with a solid wood, three-drawer carcass. (cost in addition to tuition)  We will go through the process of preparing the interior of the case, building each drawer and fettling to final fit three times.  Students need to have taken the “Training the Hand” workshop and should be both proficient and quick at cutting dovetails, through and half blind.  Sharpening and planning skill should be proficient as well.  We will use the shooting board extensively so a well-made accurate board is a must!  There is a lot of work to be done in this five-day course, the shop will be available from 6:30am to 10pm each day with the possible exception of Friday evening.  Each student will also need to bring prepared drawer stock, a cutting list will be provided when you register.
